Fast Color Salts (Stabilised Azoics)

  • Fast Color Salts are mainly used in combination with Naphthols for Textile Dyeing & Printing. As Fast Color Salts are stabilized with metal, they are easily soluble in water. There is no need of using Sodium Nitrate, Hydro-Chloride Acid. So, in one way, they are ready to use in combination with the Naphthols. In this way, Fast Salts can be handled with much convenience and ease compared to the Fast Color Bases.

Fast Color Salts (also called Stabilised Azoics) are pre-diazotized, metal-stabilised forms of Fast Color Bases. They are used in combination with Naphthols for dyeing and printing cotton and cellulosic fibres to produce insoluble azo dyes directly on the fabric. Because they are already diazotized and stabilised, they dissolve easily in water without requiring any additional reagents like sodium nitrite or hydrochloric acid.
