The SunTone® pigment range presents an excellent assortment of pigments suitable for Water base inks, Solvent-based liquid inks and Paste inks. We offer a top-quality selection of traditional organic pigments tailored to meet the needs of every printing ink system.
Water base inks:
In the realm of water-based flexo inks, we provide a diverse array of pigments meticulously designed to enhance the printing experience. The formulation of water-based flexo inks hinges on the judicious selection of pigments, taking into account factors such as rheological stability, gloss, color strength, hue, and fastness properties, all aligned with specific end-application requirements. These pigments for water-based flexo inks conform to the global regulations mandated by the printing ink industry. Water based flexo printing is a process where the ink is applied to the substrate via a flexible printing plate. The transfer of ink to the printing plate, is determined by an anilox roller. Water based flexo is used for printing on corrugated boxes, tetrapacks, tissue boxes, wallpapers etc.
Liquid Inks:
There are mainly two kinds Liquid inks/ Solvent based inks systems wherein the SunTone® Pigment range is vital in its process which are Gravure Printing and Flexographic Printin. These inks are primarily used in the printing of packing materials like plastic bags, food packaging, labels etc.
a. Gravure Printing:
SunTone® pigments offer best selection of pigments for gravure printing with a very high rheological stability, gloss, transparency, color strength, hue and fastness properties.
Gravure Printing is a commonly used printing process for flexible packaging industry. In this process, the image is transferred to substrate via an engraved cylinder, supported with the impression pressure. The substrate used are in the form of web with a minimum surface treatment & wide range of flexible substrates. The key in this type of Printing process is a combination of well formulated ink using the right compatible grade of SunTone® pigments along with a good cylinder.
b. Flexographic Printing:
Solvent based flexo printing is a process where the ink is applied to the substrate via a flexible printing plate. The transfer of ink to the printing plate, is determined by an anilox roller.
Paste Inks:
Vipul Organics offers pigments for paste inks which are recommended for offset printing, screen printing as well as for metal decorative printing. Paste ink is widely used for printing on paper substrates. The technology works on emulsion technique (the fact that oil and water does not mix with each other). These inks are supplied in form of paste which are thick and tacky in nature.
a. Offset Inks:
The SunTone® pigments from Vipul Organics are well suited for offset printing. The choice of pigment for this ink depends on factors such flow, oil absorption, acid and alkali resistance etc. Offset printing is the most common printing technique in which the inked image is transferred (or "offset") from a plate to a rubber blanket and then to the printing surface. Offset printing is commonly employed for printing newspaper publications, paper boxes, books, paper bags and magazines etc
b. Screen Printing:
Screen printing is often used for multiple packaging products such as paper box, paper cup, plastic containers, glass bottles and jars. This type of printing uses a mesh in which ink is transferred onto the substrate via a mesh that allows only ink from the image area (area on to which picture or text is intended to be printed) to pass through while blocking the non-image area. One colour is printed at a time, so several screens may be used to produce a multi-coloured image or design.
c. Metal Deco Inks:
Metal Decorative inks are type of paste inks mainly used for metal cans for foodstuff and non-food usage, aerosols, caps and closures, advertising displays, etc.
